2020年十月份，胶州湾跨海大桥启用双向区间测速设备。10月22日，设备抓拍到一辆超速行驶的白色甲壳虫轿车，车速竟然达到了154千米每小时，破了跨海大桥的超速记录。11月9日，民警传唤当事司机来大队接受处罚，经民警了解得知，驾驶员为女性，26岁，因着急去医院看望病人，故而车速较快。最终民警对其作出了记12分罚款2000元的处罚。
