根据官方发布的消息，从最新的测试版开始，微软将在Windows系统映像中删除Linux内核，并称其原因是由于新版开始Linux内核及周边软件（如驱动程序）都会通过Windows Update提供更新，所以没有必要再进行预装。这样对于用户来说，可以随时获得最新内核或驱动程序，保持Linux子系统能稳定运行。
