据明清《淇县志》记实，3000多年前，清凉庵原为殷纣王消夏避暑之地，后成废墟。据庵内《鸿恩碑记》记实，主持海阔于康熙岁首入山修行后在已成废墟上建树清凉庵，向康熙皇帝申请执照，以求得了朝廷的呵护
清凉庵建在大块奇石上，良多洞窟是供奉神灵的殿堂
这面山上全是奇石，山中有洞
这个洞窟里的老石碾是上古传下来的，仍能使用，无价之宝
