北京时间8月29日，据HoopsHype记者Michael Scotto报道，克利夫兰骑士裁掉前锋卡姆-惠特莫尔。
惠特莫尔8天前才作为五队交易的一部分从华盛顿奇才来到骑士，这笔交易同时把佩顿-沃特森送到骑士。他处于新秀合同最后一年，本赛季薪资约545.8万美元。
现年22岁的惠特莫尔是2023年首轮第20顺位，由休斯顿火箭选中，后转会奇才。上赛季他为奇才出战21场，随后因右肩深静脉血栓赛季报销。生涯119场场均10.5分、3.3篮板，投篮命中率45.0%，三分命中率34.9%。
