中国地震台网正式测定：8月15日5时58分在印尼弗洛勒斯岛附近海域（南纬8.40度，东经121.40度）发生7.7级地震，震源深度20千米。
据印尼气象、气候与地球物理局最新通报显示，此次地震引发的海啸已经在多个地点被监测到。与此同时，震中附近仍在发生强烈震动。
目前印尼气象、气候与地球物理局仍在持续监测地震和海啸情况。
