本周我们学习和三伏天相关的词汇

1. the Sanfu period

三伏天，在雅思口语表达中可以保留拼音，但是需要加一句话解释：the hottest time of the year

e.g. In China, we have a period called Sanfu, which is the hottest time of the year and usually lasts for about 30 to 40 days.

e.g. During the Sanfu period, temperatures can easily rise above 35 degrees Celsius, and the humidity makes the weather feel even more unbearable.

其他地道表达：dog days of summer

指一年中最炎热、最闷热的时期，与中文中三伏天接近

e.g. During the dog days of summer, I usually stay indoors with the air conditioner on because the heat is unbearable.

2. muggy/'mʌgɪ/

adj.(天气)闷热而潮湿的;湿热的

e.g.The weather becomes really muggy during the summer in my hometown.

e.g. During the Sanfu period, it's not only scorching hot but also incredibly muggy.

近义表达：humid 湿度高的，更偏向于客观描述，而muggy偏负面情绪。

e.g. During the dog days of summer, my hometown becomes extremely hot and humid.The high humidity makes the air feel heavy, so even a short walk outside can leave you sweating.

补充：humidity n. 湿度

3.electrolyte drink /ɪˈlɛktrəˌlaɪt drɪŋk/

n.电解质饮料

搭配：replenish electrolytes 补充电解质

e.g.Electrolyte drinks help replenish electrolytes lost through sweat.

e.g. After a long run, I usually have an electrolyte drink instead of plain water because it helps replace the minerals I've lost through sweating.

补充：plain water 普通的水（没有添加任何成分的水）

replace lost minerals 把失去的矿物质补充回来

4. dehydration/ˌdi:haɪˈdreɪʃən/

n.脱水；身体缺水

e.g. Drinking enough water can help prevent dehydration.

e.g.Feeling dizzy can be one of the signs of dehydration.

adj. dehydrated 脱水的

e.g.It's easy to become dehydrated when exercising in hot weather.

反义：hydrated 保持水分充足

e.g.Athletes need to stay properly hydrated during competitions.

5. oven/'ʌv(ə)n/

n. 烤箱

搭配：feel like an oven；like walking into an oven比喻用法，指天气热得像烤箱

e.g.The city feels like an oven in the middle of summer.

e.g.When I stepped outside, it felt like walking into an oven.
