美国国土安全部16日公布一项新规，将外国学生、交流访问者的入境居留期限规定为最高4年，若需延期则须向美国公民及移民服务局提出申请。外国媒体代表在美居留期限也被收紧。
美国国土安全部说，最终规定将于未来几天内刊登在《联邦公报》上，并于刊登60天后生效。
