如果把“头像”这个词直译成head photo或head picture，看到的人可能会以为你在说关于头部的特写。

头像更准确的表达是：profile photo / picture，它在《剑桥词典》中的释义是：

但其实，profile photo / picture多指个人的形象照片，所以这个头像大多用的会是“本人照片”。
