当地时间8日，伊朗总统佩泽希齐扬在社交媒体上发文表示，美国政府作为世界杯主办国的行为，延续了其一贯外交政策做法，包括“改变规则、欺凌对手、制造障碍和欺骗”。他称，这是美方所谓“让美国再次伟大”政策的做法。
佩泽希齐扬表示，伊朗拒绝这类“游戏”，并将坚定维护自身权利。
