《寒山清音：十四首寒山体中英传世译集》

“寒山诗”是唐代僧人、诗人号寒山子所作的诗。世传旧题唐贞观台州刺史闾丘胤撰《寒山子诗集序》，后世学者考证该序为晚唐僧徒伪托附会。寒山诗被称为通俗诗、白话诗，但由于寒山诗表达上的特殊性，并非浅显易懂，或看似明白如话，实际上另有奥旨。寒山诗是中国古代诗国中的一枝奇葩。寒山诗长期流传于禅宗丛林，宋以后受到诗人文士的喜爱和摹拟，号称“寒山体”。近代以来风靡欧美和日本，形成世界范围内的“寒山诗热”。

寒山（学界考证约 725–830），号寒山子，早年居于长安，出身官宦世家，屡试不第，三十岁后隐居浙东天台山。

寒山诗是唐代白话禅诗瑰宝，千年滋养东亚禅林，近代风行欧美，成为中国古典文化出海标杆。本辑甄选十四首经典寒山诗作，以贴合原诗禅意、兼顾英文韵律的独创译笔重构文本，打通中西审美壁垒。借清冷山居意象传递东方空寂禅心，让海外读者读懂中式隐逸与禅宗哲思，助力古典诗词跨越语言，实现中华精神文化长效跨文化传播。

杳杳寒山道，落落冷涧滨。

啾啾常有鸟，寂寂更无人。

Shadowy,shadowy Cold Mountain trail winds slow;

Sparse,sparse the cold brook’s desolate shore below.

众星罗列夜明深，岩点孤灯月未沉。

圆满光华不磨镜，挂在青天是我心。

Stars Spun Across the Deep Night Sky

Stars spread wide to light the deep nightsky;

On crags one lamp glows, moon has not sunknigh.

Its full clear radiance needs no mirror’s dye;

Suspended in blue heaven—this pure heart am I.

3、《人问寒山道》

人问寒山道，寒山路不通。

夏天冰未释，日出雾朦胧。

似我何由届，与君心不同。

君心若似我，还得到其中。

Men Ask the Path to Cold Mountain

Men ask the road to Cold Mountain high;

The path is blocked, no way to draw nigh.

Ice lingers long through summer’s burning sun;

Thick fog veils light when day’s begun.

How could one such as I attain this place?

Your mortal heart can’t match my inner grace.

If your mind turned as calm as mine can be;

You’d find thismountain solitude with me.

4、《吾心似秋月》

吾心似秋月，碧潭清皎洁。

无物堪比伦，教我如何说。

My Heart Is Like Autumn Moon

My heart’s the moonof autumn, clear and bright;

A green pool holds its pure uncloudedlight.

No thing beneath heaven matches its grace;

How can I put this silent truth in phrase?

5、《可笑寒山道》

可笑寒山道，而无车马踪。

联溪难记曲，叠嶂不知重。

泣露千般草，吟风一样松。

此时迷径处，形问影何从。

The Amusing Cold Mountain Trail

Cold Mountain paths bring quiet gentlemirth;

No wheel or horse prints mark the silentearth.

Streams twist and turn, their bends hard torecall;

Layered peaks rise tall, count none at all.

Grass weeps with dew through every dawn’s soft hour;

Pines hum one tune when breezes pour.

Lost in these winding trails, I pause tosee;

My shadow wanders, where shall my body be?

登陟寒山道，寒山路不穷。

千云万水间，中有一闲士。

白日游青山，夜归岩下睡。

倏尔过春秋，寂然无尘累。

快哉何所依，静若秋江水。

Between Ten Thousand Clouds and Streams

Between ten thousand clouds and streams Idwell;

A tranquil hermit, freed from earthlyspell.

I roam green hills beneath the bright daysun;

Then sleep beneath rock caves when day isdone.

Spring and autumn slip in one fleetingblink;

Calm and clear, freed from all mortal link.

What quiet bliss sustains my wanderingtheme?

My heart rests still as autumn’s slow stream.

8、《闲游华顶上》

闲游华顶上，日朗昼光辉。

四顾晴空里，白云同鹤飞。

Wandering Idly on Peak’s High Crest

I roam the lofty crest of mountain height;

Broad daylight spills forth radiant light.

I gaze afar on cloudless azure sky;

White cranes and clouds drift gently, sideby side.

9、《家住绿岩下》

家住绿岩下，庭芜更不芟。

新藤垂缭绕，古石竖巉岩。

山果猕猴摘，池鱼白鹭衔。

仙书一两卷，树下读喃喃。

My Home Beneath Green Crags

Beneath green rocky cliffs my cottagestands;

Uncut wild weeds spread wide across mylands.

New vines twist round the stones in windingloops;

Ancient jagged rocks rise in rugged groups.

Monkeys pluck wild fruits from the mountaintree;

Herons snatch pool fish beneath the breeze.

One scroll or two of ancient fairy verse;

I murmur soft beneath the trees, rehearse.

10、《独卧重岩下》

独卧重岩下，蒸云昼不消。

室中虽暡叆，心里绝喧嚣。

梦去游金阙，魂归度石桥。

抛除闹我者，历历树间瓢。

Lone Rest Beneath Stacked Cliffs

I lie alone beneath stacked rocky walls;

Thick mist hangs o’er my hut till daylightfalls.

My hut is wrapped in fog’s dim shadow haze;

Yet deep within my heart no noise stays.

My dreams fly forth to golden heavenlygates;

My spirit roams past stone arch’s distant fates.

Noisy worldly troubles cast aside in all;

Gourd jugs hang among the trees still.

Note: "golden heavenly gates" refers tothe celestial palace in the heavenly realm, embodying the imagery of the Taoistheavenly palaces in the East.

11、《庄子说送终》

庄子说送终，天地为棺椁。

吾归此有时，唯须一番箔。

死将喂青蝇，吊不劳白鹤。

饿着首阳山，生廉死亦乐。

Zhuangzi’s Wordson Life’s Final End

Zhuangzi once spoke of how all lives shallcease;

Heaven and earth shall be our coffin’s peace.

My time to return shall surely come one day;

A thin straw mat shall serve my clay.

My flesh shall feed blue flies when Idepart;

No white cranes need bring condoling part.

Starving men atop Shouyang Mountain livedpure;

A blameless life makes death sweet, secure.

Note: “ShouyangMountain" is the place where Boyi and Shuqi lived in seclusion to upholdtheir principles.

12、《琴书须自随》

琴书须自随，禄位用何为。

投辇从贤妇，巾车有孝儿。

风吹曝麦地，水溢沃鱼池。

常念鹪鹩鸟，安身在一枝。

Lute and Scrolls Shall Ever Stay With Me

My lute and scrolls shall always walkbeside;

What use is rank or wealth's empty pride?

I leave the carriage for a virtuous wife;

My cart bears filial sons through all mylife.

Winds dry wheat spread across the sunlitground;

Flooded streams fill fish ponds all around.

I oft recall the tiny wren’s small truth:

One single branch suffices for its youth.

Note: "Wren" refers to a tinywren, originating from "Zhuangzi", symbolizing contentment andminimal desires.

13、《吾家好隐沦》

吾家好隐沦，居处绝嚣尘。

践草成三径，瞻云作四邻。

助歌声有鸟，问法语无人。

今日娑婆树，几年为一春？

My Home Is Made for Hermit Peace

My dwelling suits a hermit’s quiet fate;

Far from the noisy world’s tumultuous state.

I tread grass paths that form three windinglanes;

White clouds stand as my neighbors throughall days.

Birds sing to aid my soft melodic tone;

No man to ask of Buddhist truth alone.

This swaying tree that stands before my eye;

How many years bring one spring passing by?

14、《凡读我诗者》

凡读我诗者，心中须护净。

悭贪继日廉，谄曲登时正。

驱遣除恶业，归依受真性。

今日得佛身，急急如律令。

To All Who Read My Verses

All those who read my poems, keep pureheart’s core;

Cast greed and stinginess to virtue’s shore.

Flattery and crooked thoughts shallstraighten fast;

Drive all evil deeds into the past.

Take refuge in your true inherent mind;

Gain Buddha’ssacred body, leave blind mankind.

Haste to embrace this truth, let none delay;

As swift as written law’s decree.

简要翻译说明

全篇采用以双行韵、隔行韵为主，部分段落灵活调整，节奏舒缓贴合原诗五言古风，读来朗朗上口，具备传唱传世性；

意境：保留寒山诗寒山、孤岩、秋月、白云、松雪核心禅隐意象，不随意删减山林禅哲内核；

文化处理：“娑婆树”“金阙”“首阳山”等东方典故保留意象直译，辅以语境铺垫，降低海外读者理解门槛；
