当地时间2月18日，央视记者获悉，美国华盛顿特区市长穆里尔·鲍泽当日宣布进入紧急状态，并请求总统特朗普提供联邦资源，帮助该市应对污水系统泄漏。
据悉，此次泄漏初期已导致2.5亿加仑（约合9.4亿升）未经处理的污水流入波托马克河。
