Larry the cat, the long serving Chief Mouser to theCabinet Office, has turned 19, prompting an outpouring of affection and humour online as Britain’s best known feline reaches another milestone at the heart of government.

Larry the cat was once just a Londonstraywithout a prayer. He was discovered in January of 2007. He eventually was taken into possession by the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. He likely never thought he would wind up living in the lap of luxury, but his life took a turn of events.
