The table below shows the number of visitors going to the heritage sites in six regions in the Australia from 1996 to 2000.

It is clear that two regions recorded significant changes in visitor numbers. In New South Wales, merely 23,000 tourists visited cultural sites in 1996,butthis figuresurgedto 458,000 after two years,overtakingall the other regions andbecoming the most visited state. The final two years(1998 to 2000)saw a marginal climbto 492,000.Similarly, the number of visitors to Tasmania, whichstarted at94,000 in 1996,underwent a steady increase, rising to120,000 by 2000.

- New South Wales：1996年游客数量仅为23,000→1998年急剧上升到458,000，成为六个地区中游客数量最多的地区→到2000年小幅度上升到492,000

However, such dramatic changes were not observed in the remaining four areas.In Victoria and Queensland, the number of visitorsincreased by roughly 6000,reaching453,000 and 417,000 by 2000.In contrast,there was a slower growthin South Australia and Western Australia,withtourist numbersrisingfrom 225,000 to 261,000 and from 189,000 to 224,000 respectively.
