IT之家1月29日消息，伴随着苹果AppleCreatorStudio订阅服务上架，如今苹果Mac版PixelmatorPro“分裂”为两个单独版本（订阅版本及买断版本），而iPad版Pixelmator只能通过订阅AppleCreatorStudio获得，无法单独买断（已购macOS版应用者若要在iPadOS上使用，仍需订阅相应服务）。
如今，苹果公司正积极将自家应用改造为付费订阅制，先前已花费真金白银购买独立应用的用户无法在未来获得全面功能更新。
例如PixelmatorPro买断用户便不支持使用付费版应用的“变形工具（Warptool）”功能，这引发社区大量批评，部分用户认为未来有一天苹果公司很有可能全面改造自家iOS/iPadOS，用户需要每月支付固定费用才能获取系统内包括Apple智能在内的各种新功能。
