12月3日，香港特区政府举行新闻发布会，介绍大埔宏福苑火灾搜救工作最新进展。香港警务处处长周一鸣表示，目前已完成全部7座大厦的所有搜查工作。截至当天14时，火灾已造成159人遇难。
