Leading Chinese eVTOL Firm Tcab Tech Raises $41 Million in B++ Round

Chinese eVTOL leader Tcab Tech has secured $41 million in a B++ funding round, marking a major milestone as it accelerates the commercialization of its tiltrotor aircraft and strengthens its position in the emerging global low-altitude economy.

The milestone underscores both sustained government support and growing investor confidence in Tcab Tech’s tiltrotor technology, engineering maturity, and commercialization potential. With policy and capital aligning, the company is entering an accelerated stage of large-scale commercial application, setting a strong foundation for airworthiness certification and international market delivery.

Founded in 2021, Tcab Tech from its inception adopted a global perspective, focusing on the tiltrotor configuration widely recognized as the optimal technical path for urban air mobility. By strategically concentrating resources on breakthrough innovations and system engineering optimization, the company has minimized risks associated with trial-and-error development while targeting scalable commercial deployment.

The tiltrotor design combines vertical takeoff and landing capabilities with efficient high-speed cruise performance, positioning it as one of the most commercially viable eVTOL architectures in the world. Tcab Tech’s independently developed E20 aircraft achieves a cruise speed of 320 kilometers per hour, a range of 200 kilometers, and a payload capacity of 450 kilograms. These specifications provide a strong economic foundation for future large-scale operations.

Engineering maturity is a hallmark of Tcab Tech’s development. The E20 has completed over 1,000 test flights, including the world’s first multi-passenger eVTOL flight featuring the company’s founder and CEO, Dr. Yongwei Huang, aboard.

The aircraft has now entered compliance verification, a critical stage toward achieving full airworthiness certification targeted for 2027. The successful manned flights demonstrate both system reliability and the company’s leadership in engineering execution.

Tcab Tech is also making its mark internationally. In July 2025, the company signed a $1 billion contract with UAE-based Autocraft for 350 units of the E20, setting a record for the largest overseas order by a Chinese eVTOL firm. The agreement reflects global recognition of Tcab Tech’s technological strengths and competitiveness, reinforcing its strategy for international market expansion.

The company has built a robust supply chain aligned with global aviation standards, collaborating with both international and domestic partners to meet stringent airworthiness requirements. Tcab Tech is working with France’s Safran Group to integrate the only independently certified eVTOL propulsion system, ensuring safety and reliability from the outset.

Domestically, the company partners with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) Xi’an Aeronautics Computing Technology Institute for avionics and flight control, EVE Energy for batteries, and Hengshen Co. for composite materials, among others. These collaborations ensure that all critical systems meet airworthiness-grade reliability, forming a solid industrial ecosystem for mass production.

Dr. Huang said, “China has all the conditions to become a global leader in eVTOL innovation and commercialization. This financing round will accelerate the E20’s airworthiness certification and production capacity. Our goal is not only to make E20 faster and safer but to demonstrate the maturity and reliability of the ‘China Solution’ for urban air mobility and secure a leading role in the global low-altitude economy.”

Investors have praised Tcab Tech’s technology, safety standards, and experienced leadership. Weiwei Wang, Managing Partner at China Renaissance Capital, said the low-altitude economy holds both strategic and economic significance for China and emphasized the importance of airworthiness maturity and product safety.
