"People who love using these phrases are actually just being lazy. Because as soon as you say them, you don't have to think anymore." She hopes what comes out of her students' mouths will be words that are refined, elegant, and vivid.
当需要表达“这个事情能不能做好”时,她引导学生运用这些说法:“我很有信心”“我势在必得”。
When we ask "Can you get this done well?" We could say, "Sure I can." Or, "I'm very confident." Or, "I'm determined to succeed."
她耐心教学生用这些更丰富、更具美感的表达来替代简单的“包的”“666”,她说,“当你们一直说这种(网络)梗的话,就说不了有知识的话了,成语、谚语、歇后语等也不会用了……”
"When your mouths are constantly repeating these memes, you lose the ability to speak intelligently. You won't know how to use idioms, you won't know how to use proverbs, you won't know how to use two-part allegorical sayings anymore."
