9月8日，因主打财政紧缩的2026年财政预算草案引发争议和反对，时任法国总理贝鲁在国民议会信任投票中未能过关，被迫辞职。9月9日晚，法国总统马克龙任命塞巴斯蒂安·勒科尔尼接替贝鲁，担任政府总理一职。
