北京时间8月5日，《科贝电台》在社交媒体表示，皇马在申请首轮西甲联赛延期被拒后，提起了上诉，但其延期需求在二审后同样被驳回。
按照原赛程安排，皇马的首轮西甲联赛将在北京时间8月20日凌晨3点进行，届时皇马将在主场对阵奥萨苏纳。若首轮联赛无法延期，皇马只有两周左右的时间备战联赛，而其他西甲球队则有三周时间。
