据悉，这名英国车手将与梅赛德斯续约，签下一份年薪为3000万英镑的多年合同。目前合同所有细节都已谈妥，只剩下赞助商相关内容还未解决。
拉塞尔本赛季到目前拿到157分，在车手积分榜排名第4。
