中国地震台网正式测定：7月17日12时30分在美国阿拉斯加州以南海域（北纬54.65度，西经160.30度）发生5.5级地震，震源深度30千米。
北京时间今日凌晨4时37分，也就是大概8小时前，桑德波因特南部海域就曾发生7.3级强震。美国国家气象局一度发布海啸预警。
