5月14日，香港运输及物流局局长陈美宝于立法会答复议员提问时表示，港府一直透过政策支持、法规配合和财政资助三方面多管齐下，积极而有序地推动自动驾驶车辆在香港的发展。港府透过智慧交通基金资助企业或机构研究和应用创新车辆的科技。截至上月，基金资助的项目中分别有5个和8个是关于自动驾驶车辆和车联网，涉及金额约1.7亿港元。
