5月12日，中美日内瓦经贸会谈联合声明发布，双方同意共同采取以下措施：中美各取消了91%的加征关税，相互24%关税90天内暂停实施。
在此前中方代表团举行新闻发布会上，彭博社记者还在提问中美何时发布联合声明，是否要等到资本市场开盘之前？引来一片笑声，对此商务部国际贸易谈判代表兼副部长李成钢用一句中国俗语回应：“好饭不怕晚”。
