The 5th China International Consumer Goods Expo (held on April 16, 2025) in Hainan attracted over 4,100 brands from 71 countries. The Hainan Free Trade Port, scheduled for full island-wide customs closure in 2025, reported a 57% annual growth in new foreign firms and a 36% increase in FDI. The expo featured new tech zones and integrated duty-free shopping into yacht tourism experiences. A 2025 industry white paper projects Hainan as a global consumption hub, bridging China’s 1.4 billion consumers and Southeast Asia’s 700 million-strong market.
