3月6日，据东芝集团消息，东芝将于2025年4月1日成立新的“综合研究所”。此前，东芝集团的三个“集团实验室”（Corporate Lab）负责从集团整体角度制定长期技术战略，并开展前沿和基础技术的研发；而两个“工厂实验室”（Works Lab）则专注于与业务直接相关的应用和产品技术研发。此次，东芝将这五个实验室整合为“综合研究所”，并在其下设立七个研发与技术中心。
