霍里表示：“当你有伤病的时候，休息是最佳选择，为什么要去打奥运会？我知道那是个好机会，但美国队应该像对待科怀那样让他离队。如果我是76人，我会为恩比德寻找世界上最好的膝盖方面的专家。”
本赛季至今，恩比德因伤病只出战了17场。
