据《图片报》足球主编法尔克的消息，曼城仍希望签下维尔茨，球员新合同将包含2026年生效的解约条款。
法尔克报道称，瓜迪奥拉仍然希望将21岁的勒沃库森中场维尔茨带到曼城。曼城已在今年冬窗尝试引进维尔茨。维尔茨即将与勒沃库森续约至2028年，但合同中将包含一项2026年生效的解约条款。
维尔茨与勒沃库森的现有合同将于2027年夏天到期，他目前的德转身价为1.4亿欧。
