当地时间24日，风暴“埃奥温”袭击爱尔兰和英国北部地区，在多地海岸掀起巨浪，目前风暴已造成1人死亡。
爱尔兰气象部门表示，“埃奥温”的最高风速达到每小时183公里，打破了近80年来的纪录。
24日，爱尔兰和英国北爱尔兰地区所有学校停课。截至当天上午，爱尔兰和英国机场累计因本次风暴取消超过1000架次航班，约占计划航班总量的20%。
