世界卫生组织发言人玛格丽特·哈里斯当地时间9月20日在瑞士日内瓦举行的简报会上表示，今年1月1日到9月8日，非洲已有25093例疑似和确诊猴痘病例、723人死亡，其中刚果（金）病例最多，有21835例疑似和确诊病例、717例死亡病例，其次是布隆迪，有超过1400例疑似和确诊病例。
