《早在2017年4月21日，吴冬生就到中山大学珠海校区授课，本次活动由共青团中山大学委员会主办，在中山大学珠海校区教学楼F520开展。吴冬生结合对越自卫还击战的亲身经历，为同学们举行了题为"英烈故事经常讲，战斗精神励后人"的爱国主义教育讲座》。
