8月22日晚，新光金控与台新金控分别召开董事会决议通过换股合并，台新金控为存续公司，合并后存续公司将更名为“台新新光金融控股股份有限公司”。台新金控财务长赖昭吟表示，预计10月9日召开股东临时会提请股东通过合并案。
