在云南省怒江傈僳族自治州，独龙江从高黎贡山和担当力卡山之间奔流而下，形成了独龙江峡谷。独龙江大多数支流谷地内植被覆盖较好，江水呈蓝绿色，泥沙含量少，一年四季河水清澈，两岸景色怡然。
