观点网讯：2月27日，据中国气象局消息，本次厄尔尼诺事件已过峰值，强度为中等。
2024年1月，赤道太平洋大部海表温度较常年同期偏高，东太平洋暖水中心偏高2.5℃以上。厄尔尼诺监测关键区海温指数为1.80℃，较2023年12月下降0.22℃，说明本次厄尔尼诺事件自2024年1月以来开始衰减，峰值出现在2023年12月。
国家气候中心预计未来三个月赤道中东太平洋海温将继续下降，2024年4月前后厄尔尼诺事件结束。
