英国汇丰银行宣布，受客户越来越多地转向网上交易影响，从明年４月起，将继续关闭在英国的１１４家分行。为削减运营成本，自去年以来汇丰银行已关闭约１５０家英国分行。与汇丰的情况类似，巴克莱银行也宣布，到今年年底可能将关闭超过９６０家分行；劳埃德银行集团在未来１２个月内将关闭超过９２０家分支机构。
