Full Program | China Arbitration Summit 2022

The China Arbitration Summit 2022 and the 2nd CIETAC Global Arbitrators Forum will be held on 6 September 2022 at Grand Metropark Hotel Beijing. As the prime event of China Arbitration Week, this Summit is jointly hosted by China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and All China Lawyers Association (ACLA), and supported by international organizations from nearly twenty countries and regions.

Focusing on the theme of “Towards Intelligent & Interconnected International Arbitration”, the Summit will invite global legal experts and CIETAC arbitrators to conduct dialogues on topical issues in international arbitration, share practical experiences and new achievements, and look into the future of international arbitration in the new era. In order to enhance the communication among arbitrators, the 2nd CIETAC Global Arbitrators Forum will be held at the same time.

The Summit will be a one-day event. Simultaneous interpretation between English and Chinese will be provided. Considering the requirement of pandemic prevention, this event will be in a hybrid format, with the main venue in Beijing and global live-streaming.

Speakers are invited to discuss the increasingly wide application of internet technologies in international arbitration as well as the use of artificial intelligence, the development and challenges of ODR platforms, the responding reforms of international arbitration rules and other new trends in international arbitration and dispute resolution.

Change and Challenge: Balancing Efficiency and Justice in Arbitration under the New Trend

Speakers are invited to discuss how to strike a balance between efficiency and justice and to achieve the unity and fusion of these two basic values of law under the new trend of increasingly intelligent arbitration, especially when faced with unbalanced technological accessibility, information asymmetry and conflicts of ideas.

Session III

Communication and Collaboration: Enhancing International Credibility of Arbitration under Economic Globalization

Speakers are invited to discuss ways to comprehensively enhance the international credibility of arbitration against the background of economic globalization, including but not limited to amendment of arbitration legislation, revision of arbitration rules, improvement of arbitration system, stronger judiciary support, and capacity building of arbitrators and relevant legal professionals.
