棕扇尾莺是雀形目扇尾莺科扇尾莺属的鸟类。栖息于海拔1000米以下的平原、丘陵地带的开阔田野、草地、农田及河流岸边的灌丛中。每年的4至7月是棕扇尾莺的繁殖期，雌雄亲鸟会轮流孵卵，共同育雏。
