游戏开发商Sandlot和发行商D3于近日宣布，《地球防卫军4.1：绝望阴影再袭（EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1 The Shadow of New Despair）》将移植到Switch平台，预定在2022年于日本发售。
《地球防卫军4.1》最早于2015年4月份在日本地区发售，登陆平台为PS4，之后在2015年和2016年2月份又分别登陆到北美和欧洲地区，Steam版则是在2016年7月推出。本作目前在Steam商城售价70元，好评率高达95%，总体评价为“好评如潮”。
