China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday released important economic data of the first half of the year. China's GDP expanded 12.7 percent and 7.9 percent year on year and the second quarter respectively.
Retail sales of consumer goods and value-added industrial output went up 23 percent and 15.9 percent respectively.
Urban unemployment rate stood at 5 percent in June, 0.7 percent lower than the same period last year.
Fixed-asset investment and investment in property development went up 12.6 and 15 percent respectively.
China's per capita disposable income stood at 17,642 yuan (about 2,731 U.S. dollars) in the first six months, up 12.6 percent from the same period last year in nominal terms.
7月15日，国家统计局公布上半年中国经济数据。上半年国内生产总值同比增长12.7%，二季度同比增长7.9%；上半年，社会消费品零售总额同比增长23%；上半年，全国规模以上工业增加值同比增长15.9%；6月份，全国城镇调查失业率为5.0%，与5月份持平，比上年同期下降0.7个百分点；上半年，全国固定资产投资（不含农户）同比增长12.6%；上半年1—6月份，全国房地产开发投资同比增长15.0％；上半年，全国居民人均可支配收入17642元，同比名义增长12.6%; 上半年，全国居民消费价格同比上涨0.5%。
China will release more than 10 million tons of coal from state reserves to ensure steady supply in the market, National Development and Reform Commission said on Thursday. China has released coal reserves four times this year, totaling 5 million tons.
国家发展改革委经济运行调节局15日消息指，为做好迎峰度夏煤炭供应保障工作，国家发改委已提前制定储备投放预案，本次准备投放规模超过1000万吨，主要分布在全国各地的几十个储煤基地和有关港口。今年以来，国家根据煤炭供需形势需要，先后4次向市场投放超过500万吨国家煤炭储备。

China's State Council Information Office Wednesday issued a white paper detailing the country's progress in protecting the rights of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Before the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) in 1949, the people of Xinjiang suffered oppression from invading imperialist forces, the feudal exploiting class and the privileged religious hierarchy. In 1949, the people of Xinjiang, together with the rest of the country, were liberated and became masters of their own country. In 1955, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was founded. For more than 70 years, the CPC and the Chinese government have upheld a people-centered approach to human rights protection. From 1955 to 2020, Xinjiang's GDP soared from 1.2 billion yuan to 1.4 trillion yuan, an increase of about 160 times. Over the same period, per capita GDP of Xinjiang rose from 241 yuan to 53,593 yuan, growing about 30 times.

China's central bank Thursday pumped 100 billion yuan of funds into the market via the medium-term lending facility (MLF) to maintain liquidity, with an interest rate of 2.95 percent.

Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday with over 10 billion funds overseas flooded in the mainland’s market. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 1.03 percent to 3564 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.75 percent higher at 15169 points.
周四股市集体收涨，北向资金净流入超百亿元。截至收盘，沪指涨1.03%，报收3564点；深成指涨0.75%，报收15169点。
