魍魉魑魅（wǎng liǎng chī mèi），原为古代传说中的鬼怪，指各种各样的坏人。出自《文选·张衡》。
“魍魉”，则有多种说法，比如“蝄蜽”、“罔两”、“方良”和“蛧蜽”。
“魑魅”和“魍魉”是分开解的。而且，虽然“魍魉”是在一起，“魑”和“魅”却各有各的意思。
魑魅：古代传说中山泽的鬼怪。《左传文公十八年》有“投诸四裔，以御魑魅”的记载，杜预注曰：魑魅，山林异气所生，为人害者。
