四年之后，阿巴亥为努尔哈赤生下了第十二子阿济格。接着，阿巴亥又相继生下了第十四子多尔衮和第十五子多铎。努尔哈赤十分宠爱阿巴亥的这三个儿子，精心将他们培养成为八旗的旗主。当时做为后金核心军队的八旗，他们就占去两旗，可见努尔哈赤对阿巴亥的情意之深。
