这是日本建筑师西泽立卫设计的“轻井泽千住博美术馆”，为单层文化建筑，总建筑面积1818平米。设计师希望该建筑能够完全利用自然采光，并将周边花园里150种、共60 000棵植物当作艺术品展示的背景，而随着四季更迭，博物馆的背景也在不断变幻之中。
