A vendor at a designer market in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, sold fallen leaves for 10 yuan each after visitors mistook them for ceramic crafts — and a young boy's heartfelt purchase has since touched many online.
Ma Jin, originally selling his own artworks, used fallen leaves as table decorations after rain. When visitors assumed they were ceramic pieces, he found it amusing and replaced all his merchandise with leaves.
On Monday, a boy carefully picked a leaf, and his father paid. After walking around, the boy returned and said, "Add this uncle on WeChat — I want to come back next year."
The boy later said it had rained throughout his trip, and the dry leaf was the only dry natural thing he saw that day — now pressed in his book, it reminds him of another side of Jingdezhen.

Ma Jin dismissed claims it was a publicity stunt, saying he doesn't rely on leaf sales and won't disclose total earnings. "All proceeds will go to a local cleaner — I saw him sweeping up leaves and felt a connection, so I decided to give him the money."
