8月15日，印尼弗洛勒斯岛附近海域于4时58分发生7.7级地震，震源深度20公里。该地震引发的海啸已经在多个地点被监测到，最高0.36米。
报道称震中附近仍在发生强烈震动，当地时间5时许又发生6.2级地震。
