英国皇家空军退役飞行员安迪·格林在美国犹他州博纳维尔盐滩创下氢动力汽车最快速度纪录，时速达406英里（约654公里）。他在1997年曾驾驶喷气式推进的ThrustSSC以763英里（约1228公里）时速穿越内华达州黑岩沙漠，成为迄今唯一在陆地上突破音障的人。
