据新华社报道，加拿大大不列颠哥伦比亚省境内新一轮野火爆发且迅速蔓延，当地政府8月8日宣布进入紧急状态，超过2万居民连夜撤离。8月10日上午，当地华人小林对封面新闻记者表示，她所在的城市暂时看不到明火，但浓烟笼罩无法出门。小林透露，在加拿大居住四年，当地每年夏天都会发生野火，“只要着起来就会失控”。
