当地时间8月1日，法国总理勒科尔尼表示，法国全国范围内的林火“目前总体已得到控制”，其中受灾最严重的吉伦特省已恢复到更加稳定的状态。如果天气条件发生变化，法国政府将立即恢复必要的防范措施。
法国内政部长努内兹表示，今年以来法国林火累计过火面积已达11.9万公顷。
