据央视新闻，美国贸易代表贾米森·格里尔7月21日在接受媒体采访时暗示，美国联邦政府将很快出台新的关税政策以替代即将到期的10%全球进口关税。格里尔说，他现在无法给出新关税政策出台具体时间点，政策在正式宣布前还需向国会和其他利益攸关方通报。
格里尔称，美国政府预计将依据《1974年贸易法》第301条，以所谓“强迫劳动”为名，对60个国家和地区加征10%至12.5%的关税，以替代即将到期的全球进口关税。
