北京时间7月5日，据Marc Stein和Jake Fischer报道，如果勒布朗-詹姆斯加盟骑士队，骑士队希望确保队内有一个空位可以用来交易得到布朗尼。
报道称，联盟内部越来越多人认为骑士是詹姆斯争夺战中的热门球队。此外，如果詹姆斯最终选择重返克利夫兰，骑士可能会保留一个阵容名额，以便从湖人交易得到布朗尼-詹姆斯。
目前，詹姆斯已经确定将离开湖人队。
