战国时，楚国诗人宋玉在《楚辞·九辩》中写道

刘禹锡的《秋词》共有两首，这是其中的第一首。在众多写秋的诗作中，这首《秋词》尤为独特，也很出名，因为它所表达的情感和其他诗作大不一样。

在寂寥的秋天里，刘禹锡能写出如此乐观的诗句，可以见得，他的心情不错，而且心里充满了自信。然而，这份自信却染上了他人生很多不幸的色彩，但他最终都以开阔的胸襟化解了这些不幸。所以，在他看来，秋天并非寂寥，而是比春天更胜一筹。

那么，刘禹锡为什么说：“秋日胜春朝”呢？我们读读后两句便知道。

“晴空一鹤排云上，便引诗情到碧霄”；秋日，天高气爽，晴空如洗。一只鹤推开云层，直飞云霄，也激发了“我”的诗情，飞向万里晴空。

“晴空一鹤排云上”，读来给人以开阔的感觉，呈现出秋高气爽，万里晴空，白云飘飘的壮美景象。这样的景象，秋天常有，好像没什么壮美可言？它的独特在于那只凌云鹤，气势非凡，推开云层，飞向云霄。

公元805年，唐顺宗李诵当皇帝，王叔文得到了重用。随后，王叔文对朝政进行了一系列改革，史称“永贞革新”。刘禹锡参是此次改革中的重要成员之一。
