China has put the world’s first wind-powered subsea data center into operation off Shanghai. Boasting a PUE below 1.15, the facility adopts natural seawater cooling to realize zero freshwater consumption. Powered by offshore wind farms with over 95% green electricity, it saves land resources and cuts carbon emissions. Overcoming harsh marine conditions, the project supports cross-border data processing. China plans to expand such facilities across coastal waters for greener computing.
